«The only way to truly change the world is through culture.»
About Me
Germán Farías (Argentina, 1987) is a dancer, teacher, and choreographer, based in Germany. He began his dance training at an early age through Argentine folklore, an experience that deeply shaped his interest in movement as an artistic and expressive practice. He received professional training in contemporary dance at the Teatro San Martín in Buenos Aires and at the Julio Bocca Ballet School, supported by a scholarship from the latter.
He has worked as a contemporary dance teacher at the National University of San Martín (UNSAM), where he also directed the student dance company. He has been a dancer in the Juliette Rahon Company since 2019 and has collaborated with institutions such as the Oscar Araiz Company (Buenos Aires), Leipzig Opera, Opéra Nice Méditerranée, Spectrum Dance Theater, CCNN Nantes, and the Julio Bocca Argentine Ballet.
Since 2022, he has been part of the ensemble of the Deutsches Theater Göttingen, performing in Cabaret, Der Große Gatsby, In der Einsamkeit der Baumwollfelder, and Bucket List. He also collaborates with Body Talk (Münster), the theatrical company Titanick (KIPPPUNKT), and as part of the Belantis artists ensemble.
His work as a choreographer and artistic director is characterized by an interdisciplinary approach that integrates contemporary dance, theater, music, stage design, and visual languages. His artistic research focuses on embodiment, narrative construction, and the generation of intense emotional experiences, with the goal of expanding the boundaries of contemporary performance practice.
